I am a regular classroom teacher that is also responsible for teaching art for the first time. My fourth grade students need to understand the history, fundamentals and general application of art. They need to learn that art is much more than making crafts.

Our school has limited funding. We do not currently have a full time art teacher. I need resource books and information that will help me make the history and application of art come alive for my students.

I have requested various reference material, including a book on Native American art and multicultural art as I teach on a reservation and feel it is important to keep all cultures and heritage alive. I have also requested a few supplies for a starting point. We have a few art supplies available, but very limited up-to-date reference and teaching materials.

Your donation will make it possible for students who are very sheltered due to their location enjoy and appreciate all types of art from around the world. Students will explore the history of art in various cultures, thereby discovering arts importance to all.
