I teach preschool in a high need, low income public school district. Eighty percent of our students are on free lunch. The majority of our students' parents work at the local meat packing plant. In addition to our American students, we have kids from Mexico, Guatemala, Ecuador, Panama, Somalia, and Sudan.

Music is the foundation of a preschooler's day. Through singing, core concepts such as colors, shapes, counting, etc, are easily learned. It's also a great way to teach English to our non-native students. Most importantly, SINGING IS FUN!!!

My current Cd player is one that was purchased on a garage sale. It worked great for a couple of years, but a few weeks ago it began to skip. Now it won't play at all. As it's January, and our current temperature is negative 12, finding another one on a garage sale isn't likely!

Your gift of this Cd player would mean so much to my class. We're singing everything acappella now, which isn't much fun if you're a 3 or 4 year old. Thanks so much for considering my project!
