The resources my students need would help them enjoy learning about ancient civilizations and cultures. My students love going through ancient artifacts and looking at the remnants of ancient culture. Since I can’t take my students to the museum every day, with this resource I would bring the museum to them. From the Lascaux cave art of France, through the elaborate architecture of Greece, Rome and Egypt, to the religious frescoes, tapestries and other artwork in Europe, and the classical works of Africa and Asia, art provides an unparalleled view of culture that can make for more interesting history and geography lessons than text books or lectures alone can provide. Combing history and art it would allow my students to see a connection between cultures and civilizations. My students will see, as human being the need to express ourselves through different forms of art has existed for thousands of years. This resource would be a valuable tool and you will be helping my students understand the ancients. The material I am requesting is 30 copies of The Annotated Mona Lisa: A Crash Course in Art History from Prehistoric to Post-Modern. This resource will be used to help my students put a face to the cultures and civilizations they are learning about.
