We need to bring life back to Algebra II for my 11th and 12th graders. They live in the most impoverished community in D.C.

Our school lacks resources that can reach to all students at diverse levels of math. Attendance is one of the biggest issues at my school. We need to draw them back into the fun and value of education in math in order to guide them towards graduation.

We need an LCD projector so that students can get visual representations of the material. Some of my students cannot afford proper eye care and have problems reading off of overhead projectors. Furthermore, they complain about the mundane and dry material of mathematics. If I can show them examples off my computer of how the mathematics applies to things they do in everyday life and videos that can better explain the material, they will surely be more invested in day to day lessons. The projector can also give them opportunities to do projects in Algebra II and practice their presentation skills. For example, I would like to have them create presentations using PowerPoint on using Algebra II skills to abstract information from given data.

Your contribution will surely put my students in a more lively Algebra II setting that bring them to class and put them on the path to graduation.
