I teach 5th grade inclusion at a Title 1 school where more than half of our students receive free or reduced lunch. I have some students whose mothers and/or fathers are incarcerated. Other students' mothers have abandoned them. Some students live in hotels, and other students eat free breakfast and lunch at school - the only meals they eat all day. It amazes me that these kids walk in my room every day, smile, and say "Good morning." They continually impress me with their strength. I have an amazing special education co-teacher and together we ensure that all of our students meet and exceed our state's mandated curriculum standards. We have had great success teaching general education and special education students together in one classroom. Our success is built on a foundation of caring, compassion, and a love of learning. I look forward to going to school every day, knowing that I am making a difference in my students' lives.

I am constantly on the prowl for reading material that will not only meet my curriculum standards, but also, more importantly, meet my students' interests and needs. I teach students with reading disabilities and finding materials that interest them is key to their success.

I know that the Time for Kids and Weekly Readers will help all my students, disabled and non-disabled, become better readers! The articles are interesting and the reading levels are differentiated so all my students will be able to read without frustration.

PLEASE grant my wish for better readers! Literacy is the key to success in all areas and with your help I can ensure that my students succeed in school and in life. Thank you for your time and consideration.
