I teach 48 7th grade students in math and science. We're in a rural area and there is not a lot of technology in the school.

My students are willing to try anything and love to share their work and ideas. They have very little exposure to technology. On a whim, I tried setting up a WebCam to my projector to use as a document camera. The photo I've included shows the results. The students are confused, the display window is tiny, and they can't see very well. Plus I have to hold the WebCam and it's difficult to keep it steady.

A document camera would be the perfect solution for our situation. The document camera I've selected is inexpensive but allows students to share their work, to view teacher-led examples, and enriches the type of materials we can use in class.

You will make my students feel more involved in the learning and foster a student-led classroom. For these students, the more control and power they have over their education the more likely they will graduate high school. (our drop-out rate is about 25%).
