I teach a very diverse kindergarten class with over half my students being ELL (English Language Learners).

Play is an important part of learning social skills in kindergarten, but as a new kindergarten teacher I don't have any play people or dolls for my students to play with. Often my students will use the blocks in our classroom to build pretend houses and villages, but we have no play people to live in them!

With these 4 sets of play people, my students can be engaged in creative pretend play in the classroom and develop their language skills and vocabulary at the same time. These particular sets of play people are perfect for my diverse classroom, since they include different multicultural families, dolls with disabilities, and children from around the world. In addition to being a diverse set of play people, there are also play people with different community jobs which will help my students as we learn about our community in social studies.
