Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Our school is in its first year of existence and we are very excited! I teach literacy to struggling readers in both first and second grade, supervise 2 cooking programs: one for students and one for parents, as well as mentor two Kindergarten teachers.

As our school is in its first year, we are hoping to capture in film all the special events and hard work that took place to show future generations of students. We hope to begin a legacy for future students to show how far we have come! So far we have had 2 student performances, parent and student cooking programs, as well as an evening musical performance. We would love to get these opening events on film to view forever!

A Panasonic digital camcorder will allow us to always reflect on our starting point. We will be able to play the film for our students so they can see how well they performed to inspire them to continue their hard work. Parents that could not attend the performances can also view them at any time if they were on film. A montage could be made at the end of each year highlighting the special events that took place.

Your help will ensure that our first class of students will always be remembered. You will make it possible for parents, staff and students to watch our school grow into the best school in our city year by year!
