This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Low-income Students in Ethnically Diverse Middle School Building their English Language Skills

Most of my 110 students speak English as their second language and are approximately 2 reading levels below the standard.

The Collins Cobuild Student Dictionary is offers up-to-date coverage of today's language plus a full-length English Grammar - an invaluable combination for learners of English. This dictionary enables students to write better English and also understand English better. It's also visually appealing - in color- to help students find words more quickly, and has explanations of each word in full sentences.

With your help, I can put a dictionary in the hands of my students which will make sense to them, help them learn and build vocabulary, and give them confidence as they build their English skills.
