Our world revolves around technology! My 4th grade students are so motivated when technology is incorporated into their daily lessons. Capturing evidence of learning in the Math and Science classroom with digital cameras is the way to go.

Our 4th grade team would like to start a new program called the Traveling Scientist. This would require each classroom to have a digital camera. Last year, Donors Choose helped my class receive a Flip Video camera and when I incorporate it into our lessons the motivation and knowledge soared through the roof.

The Traveling Scientist is a program where each child would take a backpack home for a week. Each backpack contains a lab coat, goggles, Science experiments, scientific method forms, and hopefully a digital camera. The digital camera will be used to take pictures of the child's experiment at home. The student will then present their experiment to the class and share their pictures with the class in a slide show. We want to motivate our students to ask questions on how and why things work.

With your help, this project will encourage our students to be motivated to ask questions and pull out their curiosity on to how and why things work in the real world. You will make it possible for 160 little scientists to be a part of our Traveling Scientist program.
