I teach 4th grade in a fine and performing arts charter school. We are located just outside of Detroit, MI and have felt the effects of the auto companies' crash in a very real and heartbreaking way. Many of my students do not have access to a computer at home, let alone the limitless resources the Internet provides.

Unfortunately, my students' only computer was recently relocated to another room in the school. There are endless resources on the computer and computers have an uncanny ability to get the children engaged in, well - any topic. A student could have a genuine distaste for a subject for many different reasons. However, if I tell them they could research it on the computer, they dive right in! Computers are captivating, and for many of my students - a luxury!

Hate math? Scared of science? Social Studies is unbearably boring? Loathe Language Arts? Not anymore - adding a computer to the mix makes everything more interesting! It's more than giving them one isolated experience. It is truly opening their minds to new experiences and possibilities!

This donation may not seem like a big deal to you. You may even forget about it by next year, but I can guarantee my students won't! They will remember your generosity for a very long time! You are appreciated!!!
