All of my students are bilingual and are economically disadvantaged. Our school has a "self manager" program to teach students to be responsible, respectful, and reliable. Students have an opportunity to show their teachers that they can exhibit these traits in the classroom, in the hallway, at lunch, at recess, etc. Then, when they have earned enough teacher signatures for being responsible, respectful, and reliable, they become a "self manager." Self managers wear a badge and they earn special classroom and school privileges. I am in need of special activities for my self managers. These students have worked really hard to earn their self manager badge, and I would like to have special activities for these students to do in the classroom and at recess. First of all, I would like to take their picture and put it in a foam frame that they are able to decorate. I also would like them to be able to play board games during recess. I have selected some classic board games: Trouble, Guess Who, Sorry, and Connect Four. Students would also be able to enjoy a special game of football or soccer with their new balls. To celebrate this special honor, they would be able to play with bubbles too. Not only would these games and activities, reward the self managers for their excellent citizenship, but it would also encourage others to continue to try to improve their behavior so they could earn their self manager badge too. Students have an opportunity to submit a self manager chart for signatures every six to eight weeks. These special activities would keep the momentum of the program going and I could have a classroom full of self managers! Our school is focusing on teaching students the social skills to be successful members of the community. Your generous donation would show that the community values respectful, reliable, responsible students. I would appreciate your donation to a wonderful group of students. They are always grateful for any gifts that they receive. Thank you for your support! hide» My students need a set of board games, 2 balls with a drawstring ball bag, an easy grip ball toss, bubbles and a bubble kit, and peel and stick collage foam frames. details»
