My students need two digital cameras to be able to produce photographic logs during their mock crime scene investigations.

Forensic Science is a half-year junior-senior elective for students who are looking for an exciting real-world application for science.

The final examination for this course includes a mock crime scene investigation where students are expected to follow real-life CSI protocols to collect and analyze evidence. They file a mock police report that includes a photographic log of the crime scene and each individual piece of evidence. The photographic log makes the experience more realistic. However, we do not have the funds to purchase digital cameras for this exciting project.

These two digital cameras would allow students to complete their mock crime scene investigations and reports with more realism. Crime scene photography is an important component of crime scene investigation and might appeal to the student who would like to be involved in the crime scene, but has a more artistic side.

Your help will ensure that my students are fully engaged in this summative assignment. This is the project that all students look forward to at the end of the course. This is also the class that has the longest waiting list. I believe the cameras would be an asset to the course as we could use them for the crime scene investigation, as well as throughout the course during smaller crime scene investigations.
