Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach fourth grade in a rural area of northern California. We are a Title I school with a high poverty rate and a majority of students who are learning English as their second language.

My students are very limited when it comes to technology. Most do not have computers or Internet in their homes, nor do they have access to other technology that would help them learn in a more efficient and worthwhile way.

Having an all-in-one printer in the classroom will allow us to scan student work, run copies of important documents for students and parents, and print papers needed for both at-home and school use. It is very important to grab students' attention and provide extra skill practice at the opportune moment. By having an all-in-one printer at our disposal, we will be able to take advantage of the timeliness of situations. Being able to scan documents will also allow us to add more content to our class website! Both parents and students can then enjoy the work they've created as well as see examples of true grade-level content!

A device like this would make a difference on a daily basis. Being able to share and distribute information when it is needed increases everyone's communication and academic achievement. Please consider helping us purchase this much desired piece of technology! Thanks for all you do!
