Music can be magical for a young child. In my classroom I strive to keep music exciting and interesting for students. Every week kindergarten, first, and second graders walk through the door into a magical world where we sing, dance, and explore music. Our school is located in a rural part of our state and a large population of our students are on free and reduced lunch.

Currently, the music room has no carpet for the students to sit on. We do have chairs to use. But, in music there are many songs and games that you have to sit on the floor in a circle for. Students track dirt/gravel into the room and on the floor. As you can imagine it makes it hard to have fun when your sitting in a pile of dirt, so often we are not able to do these fun activities due the floor being dirty.

That is why I am requesting a area carpet for our room. With a carpet it's a quick fix to grab the vacuum and ta-da good as new. My music room has a jungle theme and what better way to help students get into the swing of things than a jungle rug.

This is a chance to help our music room for years to come. A carpet is not something that is just used once and not touched again. This will be used every week for years until it has completely wore out! Your donation will help hundreds of students to get more out of their magical music classroom.
