ProStart Culinary Arts students consists of 11th and 12th grade students working toward the ProStart certification through the National Restaurant Association. Our program articulates with the local community college for up to six hours credit toward their culinary arts program. The students in this program are currently Safe Food Handler certified through the local county health department. Many of our students are currently working on internships through food service establishments within our community.

Our Culinary Arts program equips our young students with the skills to go into food service establishments, utilize safe food handling and provides them with avenues for continued education in the career pathway of hospitality and food service management. Many students utilize this option to either work their way through college or pursue it as their viable career path.

Our students cater small banquet events and are in need of pasta machines to enable them to provide and experience preparing fresh pasta. The attachments will allow students to prepare a variety of types of pasta as well. They have already been fundraising with cheesecake sales and need more springform pans to allow more volume in their sales.

Your contribution as a donor to this project will allow our students to simulate real food service situations and experiences. The Catered 2 project is a project that has been embraced by our local community and continues to move forward during this low-economical time. Our students are ready for employment upon graduation and beyond!
