Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My classroom is for 3rd through 6th grade non verbal students with Autism. The students vary from moderate to severe in their disabilities. Our school has one of the largest populations of Autistic students in our district.

My students have high sensory needs that can dominate their days. Each student has different sensory needs and the smallest things can trigger a sensory episode. Several of my students will bounce up and down in their chairs to try and calm their sensory needs.

The sensory ball chair will provide an opportunity for my students to calm themselves and to remain on task longer. It will also help with balance and posture while the chair holds the ball in place to keep them from falling over.

Your donation will help my students sensory needs and provide an opportunity to stay on task longer. The few sensory items that are in my class were purchased by myself and any help is greatly appreciated.
