Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach a great kindergarten class at an elementary school in Texas. My school is in a high-poverty neighborhood. We are a Title I school, and most of my students are on free or reduced lunch.

My students are excited to come to school where everything is new and exciting. They are very interested in learning to read.

We have a set of 26 small puzzles, where each 3-5 piece puzzle shows a picture and word for a letter of the alphabet. My class loves to mix up the pieces and do these puzzles. They are learning more each day and are ready for harder literacy puzzles. I've discovered puzzle sets that will take my students to the next level in learning to read. With Picture-Word Phonics Puzzles and Sound-It-Out Phonics Puzzles, my students will continue making that letter/sound connection that is so important in learning to read. Three-letter and four-letter word puzzles will help my students learn the order letters go in to make words. With a First 100 Words Puzzle Library, students will begin to recognize and remember key words for building their vocabulary. Simple Word Sentence Match-Up Puzzles will increase student comprehension of sentence structure and subject/predicate awareness.

You can help my students put it all together! Just imagine the delight as they put these puzzles together, building literacy skills in such a fun way. I know these materials will help my students grow into amazing readers.
