My classroom is located in an urban area in Illinois. This project will help students who have special needs. Students range in grades from Kindergarten to 3rd grade. This school is located in a very diverse area, with students from many different cultures. Roughly 75% percent of our school is classified as low income.

Even though these students have special needs, they all exhibit the desire to utilize technology, such as a computer. I have found many useful websites that the students can utilize and now that our netbook has been funded on Donors Choose, it would be even more beneficial to have a laserjet printer.

Since donors choose worked wonders in helping us obtain our netbook, I thought it would be best to start here for the printer, as well. This resource will be great because the students will be able to print things that they might find and that they like. The overall goal is that from the items printed, that the students will have something that will benefit their learning.

You will make it possible for my students to be able to have a little bit of fun, while reinforcing content in the areas of literacy and mathematics. Furthermore, you will also be providing access to technology to students who will appreciate being able to utilize this resource to extend their learning. In addition, HP has been generous enough to match the donation you make on this project due to the fact that you will be helping with the purchase of an HP product.
