I teach 23 wonderful second graders who are digital natives and thrive using technology. My students grew up utilizing technology as an integral part of their every day life. Their learning styles vary from visual learners, to tactile/hands-on learners. We work together as a team to support growth and learning. My goal is to empower and engage my students in the learning process. I strive to build their confidence and self esteem.

My students showed an interest in presenting their research, readers theater plays, and various presentations. Their audience had a hard time hearing their wonderful voices so a student suggested we get a class karaoke machine to use when they are doing presentations. The goal being to build students' confidence and self esteem.

In order to support my students and to make it easier for their audience (peers) to hear their presentations, we are requesting a karaoke machine. Making it possible for students to present or perform using a microphone makes students feel important and it engages them. It builds their confidence. They take pride in their work that they get to present in a formal way. Magic happens when you put a microphone in their hands :)

Your help will make it possible for my students to present and perform using a microphone. It provides an opportunity for students to feel like a star while increasing their confidence. This project is important to me because it engages students and provides an incentive for them to be prepared and motivated to have a polished presentation that they will share.
