"I teach fourth grade in a low income, rural area of northern California. We are a Title I school with a high population of English language learners.

We have two electric pencil sharpeners in our room that are about to kick the bucket. I attempted to sharpen some new pencils this afternoon; one of the pencils literally went from the wooden end to the eraser without ever actually getting sharp. It ate the pencil completely! Then I decided to restock our colored pencils for a science activity tomorrow only to realize that most of the colored pencils were gone as well.

I am asking for two new electric pencils sharpeners and a class pack of colored pencils to replace our dwindling supply. These are simple, but very essential items!

Your donation will help ensure that we can write both in color (for projects and corrections) and traditionally! Please help us procure our indispensable supplies! Thank you so much! hide»

Dear Salesforce.com, Nikki and Darren,

Thank you all so much for your help with this project! Our new sharpeners are working splendidly (the students are still amazed that the sharpeners spit the pencils back out when they're finished, hahaha)! Our colored pencils have already been used on field trips and social studies notes as well as in our science journals and on paper corrections. Both of these items have come in handy on a daily basis! Again, thank you so much for your generosity! My students and I are extremely grateful for your support!

With gratitude,
Ms. Y.

Dear Salesforce.com, Nikki and Darren,

Thank you so much for your generous donation! My students and I greatly appreciate your support in these rough economic times! These supplies may be very basic, but they are absolutely essential. We've managed to get by this year (barely!), but now we'll be set for quite some time! We've been using colored pencils for everything from our science journals to math notes, as well as artistic endeavors! I can't wait to tell my students that this work can continue! What a wonderful way to begin the spring season!

With gratitude,
Ms. Y.
