My students need 36 Geoboards and a set of rubber bands.

I am a first-grade EIP teacher. This means these students perform at a lower-rate compared to other students their age. In my school, we are a low socio-economic, low-functioning school. Many of our students are not capable of getting academic related activities, books, or resources. Our school also has a lack of resources to provide to the students.

My students are hard workers, but without supplies it becomes difficult to allow the boys and girls to "reach for the stars" and explore the wonderful world of mathematics. Although we have some supplies, getting supplies for 25 students or more proves more difficult than I ever thought. My students love learning about math and show a great interest in absorbing as much as they possibly can.

My students need geoboards and rubber bands to truly understand the manipulation of shapes within shapes. With these resources my students will get hands-on activities to solidify the ideas I have taught. The geoboards will provide our students who aren't as skilled in math the means to manipulate rubber bands into various shapes. These same shapes can be overlapped to create newer shapes. This hands-on activity assists a variety of learners.

You will help make it possible for my students to be able to manipulate shapes and create various newer shapes. You have the power to make the biggest difference in my children's lives by donating money towards math manipulatives. With your help my students can gain a greater knowledge of math and math ideas.
