Patterns Are Everywhere... But Not Here.

My students need pattern blocks and the activity cards that go with it, a tray pattern blocks to create patterns, a jar filled with dominoes, and a math kit with magnetic numbers & symbols to figure out what is missing.

I teach thirrd grade in a high poverty district where our funding is very low. We are living in Michigan where the unemployment rate is skyrocketing and our budgets are being cut every day. I am hoping to reach out to these children and allow them the opportunity to learn more about patterns.

I have observed that patterns help students see many things that can provide growth for a student. They will learn in different ways with pattern blocks. I am trying to get away from paper and pencil. I need these pattern blocks to help educate this class as well as the students that will be coming to 3rd grade in the future years.

We need pattern blocks and the activity cards that go with it, a tray pattern blocks to create patterns, a jar filled with dominoes and a math kit with magnetic board and the magnetic numbers & symbols to figure out what is missing. Continuing with trying to go green (and making sure the students are aware that I am) students will enjoy having more a hands-on approach to learning and less pencil and paper. By using these blocks they will really be able to find and notice patterns throughout their every day lives.

With your gracious donation, my classroom will excel in finding these patterns throughout everyday life. You will be able to make it possible to help out our high poverty school and ensure that will students will learn more about patterns. You will make a difference in every one of my student’s lives and bring a smile to every one of their faces!
