Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Picture it: the cast includes one teacher, nineteen students. The setting: a first grade in an urban, impoverished city. The problem: no money for supplies, few resources available. The solution: YOU!

My students are energetic and charismatic. They have experienced so much heartache and obstacles in their short lifetimes. And yet, they come to school every single day looking to learn. My students love to perform, whether it be reciting poetry, singing songs, reading from books, or dancing.

I am asking for a Panasonic camcorder for my class. My students will be able to select, practice, and perform performance pieces. They will be able evaluate their performances. This will keep my students excited about learning. We will be able to perform skits about the themes we are learning in all their subjects. They will be able to perform a Nursery Rhyme, recite a Math chant, perform the orbits of the planets in the Solar System, and pretend to be Conquistadors.

Your help will make learning exciting in my class! Most of my students are kinesthetic learners and benefit from performing our lessons. Your donation will keep my students engaged in my lessons. It will also expand their experience in my class. Picture it: Students excited to learn and being successful because of you!
