Bells in the Boys Bathroom

My students need twelve 27-Note Bell Sets with Cases.

I'm a k-5 music teacher in two inner city schools. At one of my schools I teach in the old boys locker room which has no walls and is still used as a boys bathroom. I get no money from the schools to buy instruments and the parent organization is not very active.

My students have music class once every two weeks for an hour. An hour is a long amount of time for elementary students. They love their music class time, and are always asking to play instruments.

At the start of the school year all students learned how to read, speak, clap and play rhythms. They enjoyed using my small amount of percussion instruments to do this. Now we are learning the names of the notes and where they are found on the music staff. I have about 9 bell sets to help them learn the names of their notes, and they love playing the bells. Nine bell sets is just not enough for each student to get the hands on experience that they need. I really need another 12 sets, so each student will be able to practice and play their notes and rhythms in class.

There just aren't enough bell sets for everyone. Reading notes and playing rhythms in music class helps reinforce the same skills students need to read and do math. Please help my students so they can continue learning in the lacking environment that they live in.
