I am a first grade teacher at a Title 1 school. The majority of the students at my school are military dependents. Our school is located near an Air Force Base.

With the economy the way it is, one of the main things we had to cut off the supply list were art supplies. Although it is not a necessity, 6 year olds love to paint. They can paint pictures and then describe them. These pictures are items that their parents will cherish forever. Please help us make these lifetime memories by providing for our art center! My students need paint, paint brushes, drawing paper, paint cups, sponges, a drying rack, and stencils for their art center.

Not only can students have fun with painting, they can also make it a learning experience. With the Alphabet sponges I am requesting, they can paint their spelling words, sight words, and other vocabulary we are learning. We have not painted this year, but I hope that will change. I do have some supplies in the classroom for them, but not many.

Not many kids get to paint at home, so I want to be able to provide this opportunity for them in my classroom. With your help, we can make this happen. My students will be able to use them for educational purposes as well as for fun!
