I am the media specialist at an urban middle school. Our school is serviced as a Title 1 school in NorthEast Florida. As the media specialist, I make sure that the students are exposed to a variety of subjects, learn the tools needed to explore the vast amounts of information available and able to use the technology currently available for maneuver through information source material.

The closed circuit system in our school was hit by lightening and the two Digital video recorders we had were blown. Being over 10 years old, they were declared unfixable by our maintenance department. We receive all types of DVD material for use by our students and due to budget restraints, have no way to replace nor expose the students to the digital information.

I have been advised by our maintenance technician that if I was able to secure two digital video recorders that they could install them into the central unit in the media center for use by the entire school staff.

Your help will ensure that digitally produced material will be able to be shown, recorded, and produced by and for students.
