Mrs. L, I Can't Hear the Story!

My students need 10 CD read-along kits.

Do you remember that really great story that you wanted to hear over and over again as a child? Wouldn't you like to give that memory to another child?

As a first grade teacher, each day I work with three small guided reading groups, while the rest of the class is at a literacy station. One station that is popular is the listening station, but it is hard to get to the listening station when there is only one book on cd to listen to.

Located in a high poverty area, we are restricted to little funding. With a group of young kids in front of me each day, I know that this is the most important time to get kids to love reading. I would like to provide my students with an opportunity to hear a book read aloud to them more than just once a day.

Donating books on cd to our classroom will allow my students to have the opportunity to learn to love reading.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
