My students need a variety of high interest books to learn basic reading and comprehension skills including Arthur, Dr. Seuss, Berenstain Bears, Magic Tree House, and Amelia Bedelia.

Have you ever been interested in increasing the literacy rate in America? Your support of this project will ensure students with special needs have the books necessary to increase their level of fluency and reading comprehension. Students in grades K-5 will use the resources to work on reading skills in a small group setting. The quantity of books requested represents the additional number needed to allow students a copy of their own book in a group of six.

Students are extremely interested in Arthur, Amelia Bedelia, Dr. Seuss and Magic Tree House. Your support will provide additional copies of books currently available in our classroom so that each student can hold the book in their hand and follow the text with his/her finger. A variety of titles and ability level text has been requested to meet the needs of a variety of learners. The books will continue to be available for students with special needs long after the current students have found success and moved onto middle school and high school.

Your support in this project is essential!! Our students will use the requested materials to promote interest in reading, encourage decoding skills with unknown words, and promote fluency so that students will begin to develop independence in their own reading ability.
