I am a second year teacher in an amazing Kindergarten class!! My class size is much smaller this year, and I feel that with 20 kids I am able to do a lot more fun activities with my students. We have an amazing PTA at our school, but with just entering the teaching field I am in need of a lot of help. My school is becoming filled with more lower income families, so asking for community support is becoming more complicated.

My students love to write, because they are just learning that what they write can tell a story. I feel that starting at this age, when everything is still so fun, and encouraging fun writing activities will capture the children's love for writing. My students need 20 of the White Wipe-Off Boards for our phonics game that we will be doing to assess the children's phonemic awareness. During my student teaching, I used the dry-erase boards frequently. I am now in a classroom that does not have any dry erase boards, and I feel that it would be very beneficial to the students. Kindergarten children are just learning to write and can always grow from opportunities to get their hands on writing utensils. These boards will not only be great for our Taft Tiger Trivia game, but I will also use them as our first step during our handwriting lessons.

I will have the students play the Tiger Trivia game where we use the dry-erase boards as our answer boards! I will sound out a word using our phonemic sounds, and my students will try to figure out what word I am saying. There are numerous ways we play this game, and this is just ONE of the many ways that I will use these boards. In my student teaching I learned numerous actvities where dry erase boards can be used. I would love to have the opportunity to share these activities with my current class of children!

You will make in possible for my students to play the phonemic games and also use a tool that will allow them to quickly fix any mistake while growing to love writing!
