My students need parchment paper for writing, colored card stock for book covers, a stapler, a manual book binder, and binding combs.

I teach kindergarten in a small, urban, public early childhood center, grades pre-K through first-grade.

My students recently showed interest in writing books during writers' workshop, as opposed to writing on single sheets of paper. Their stories are increasing in detail and length. Right now, all books are being written on plain copy paper.

My students need quality book making materials. I can cut parchment paper and heavy colored paper to offer my students choice in the color and size of the books they're creating. A book binder and stapler will provide students with binding options. The liberty to make these choices will allow my students to engage more fully in the creative process.
