Bouncing to Better Health

My students need 10 bouncy balls.

Remember how you felt as a child when you went to PE and saw the "Bouncy Balls" out, and you just knew you were going to have SO MUCH FUN that day! Well, students today are the same exact way, and they would love to have some of these Spring Balls. I am a Physical Education teacher in a Critical/High Needs school, and district. We live in a rural school district where most of our students come from low income, one parent families. Our children go without most of the time, and I know that these balls would put a smile on their faces while with me during their PE time each week. My school is K-3rd grade and I teach PE to the 1st-3rd grade students.

If you've heard about the Corridor of Shame, our school is in one of those districts; which means that we don't have a whole lot. I do not have a gym or multipurpose room, just a sandpit outside and a room upstairs that right now is infested with bats. Our school was built in 1920, and the equipment I do have is about 15 to 20 years old. Adding these balls to my equipment arsenal would impact the health of my students without them knowing!! I need newer equipment desperately, and feel like applying for it little by little and receiving it little by little will be a true blessing to the students I teach each year.

The Spring Balls are great! We'll be able to have relay races, students will be able to bounce around during Expression Time, and students will be able to complete a unit on Developing Leg Muscles. These balls are great because students love to bounce around and get a wonderful leg workout without even noticing it! They will give me the opportunity to talk to my students about the muscles in the legs and talk about why it's so important to keep our legs, and body, healthy throughout our lives.

Our school faces many obstacles, including severe budget cuts and this website is an absolute blessing! Please consider helping these students by providing an opportunity to them that we once had as little children. These Spring Balls will literally put the "bounce" back in our lives here at school. Thank you for your support and love.
