I teach first grade in a great school. We are a very small school. We have one class per grade. So we have all different levels of students in one classroom.

Reading is our aim, digital learning is our game. My students love to read. We read aloud everyday. We would like to be able to share our stories with our parents every night. I email my parents at night to let them know what happened during the day and what their child has for homework. I would really like to be able to attach a video of their child reading orally to the class. If they don't have email I would like to be able to print off a picture of their child reading with their group to show them what they are doing at school.

We need a video camera so that we can make movies of our reading to make ourselves become a better reader. We would like to share these movies with our parents so they can see everyday what we have been working on. We need a digital camera because we take a lot of pictures of what we do in our classroom. We have one digital camera in our room already, but when we are working on Science experiments it is hard to take one picture at a time without taking forever. The students are really learning how to use the digital camera. In an instant they can see if they need to try and take another picture. We also need a memory stick for our camera so we can take more than seven pictures at a time. This will save so we can capture what is happening at that moment in time.

You will make it possible for my students to show their parents exactly what they did at school that day through the digital world we live in. Parents love to see their child succeed and this is just another avenue for them to check. The students will become familiar with using a digital camera and a video camera. That will help them for the rest of their school career because they will have presentations that they have to setup. This class will be a little bit ahead if they can practice using these different pieces of technology. All of that will be accomplished because you decided to support our learning.
