They need to get their hands on the knowledge they will need. I teach Introductory Biology to kids from 9th-11th grade. We are a high-need, high-poverty public high school. Of the 107 students I teach, 10% are special education with inclusion in the general education classroom.

In general, and especially for the special education students, these kids learn better when they have a hands-on, concrete example to work with. However, the provision of these examples often falls to the individual teacher, as the school does not have any for general use. Also, one of my responsibilities to these students is to try to inspire them to pursue education beyond high school, and for that I need to make this subject interesting to them.

I need 5 models to cover topics from animal and plant cell structures to mitosis and meiosis, to human body systems. These models will allow my students to get their hands on the material I am trying to teach them so that that they can also wrap their minds around the concepts they need to know. These models will also spark my students' interest in my subject so that I can fan it into a burning desire for knowledge that will carry them beyond the walls of this school.

Your help will ensure that my students have ample opportunity to succeed in my classroom by gaining the knowledge they will need, and to succeed in life by extending that knowledge outside my classroom.
