"If I could say it in words there would be no reason to paint." - Edward Hopper I am the library media specialist at a Title One elementary school in Wisconsin. Our K-5 students represent more than 30 different cultures and about a 35% poverty level.

Our digital natives are greatly intrigued by all things digital. I have been amazed at the power of their projects when given an opportunity to portray their ideas in a digital format. Thanks to Web2.0, we have more software resources available to us than ever before. For instance, our third through fifth grade students have used programs such as Photo Story to present research and tell their own personal narratives. We used free images from many sources, copyright-free music, text, and their own voices to create these. Imagine, though, how much more powerful this project could be if they could use their own images.

We are hoping to create a Camera Pack to check out to classroom and resource teachers to use with their students. We would like to expand the Photo Story project to incorporate the students' digital images. In addition, I would love to see even smaller hands holding these cameras to demonstrate understanding of a concept, to create unique products, or expand their learning in a new way. We are hoping to obtain a pack of 5 digital cameras, the batteries and charger to operate them, and a case to keep them in. They will be available to all classes from the library media center.
