I teach elementary music, grades K-5 in Nevada. My school consists of approximately 650 students and I teach all of them. Anything that is donated through DonorsChoose not only benefits one class, but it benefits an entire school.

Today's young generation learn much differently than I learned growing up. With the internet, TV, and video games, the children are exposed to so much creativity, and traditional teaching techniques are no longer adequate. This is why it is vital for teachers like myself to have the necessary resources to accommodate and challenge our future generation.

My students need 2 complete sets of diatonic boomwhackers, 5 sets of chromatic add-ons, and 4 various teaching manuals with CD accompaniment in order to experience music creatively like the Las Vegas Blue Man Group. The instruments provided through this project are long pitched tubes that students hit on the ground to make different melodies. These instruments will motivate my students in music and will allow my students to creatively play music like the Blue Man Group on the Las Vegas Strip.

Please support this project that supports the arts and music in the classrooms. This donation will benefit around 650 students and will be help my students express themselves creatively and learn to develop a lifelong love of music.
