Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

A new Kindergarten classroom was opened and I was lucky enough to be chosen for this assignment! I have 20 curious students that are eager to read fluently. My classroom includes students with diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

Because this is a newly-added Kindergarten classroom, we do not have a classroom library that targets emerging, Kindergarten students. While we have created a cozy area and do have some books, we are sorely missing many good books that are Kinder-classics.

This project will provide my students with a variety of grade level appropriate books that are engaging and inspiring. Students will benefit in numerous ways, as books are essential in promoting literacy.

You will make it possible for my students to have a great classroom library that gets them excited about selecting books, sharing books, and hopefully soon enough, reading books!
