I am the music teacher for a Pre-K-6 school where I teach 480 students each week in general music,band and chorus. The majority of the families that attend our school are living in poverty. Any opportunity for seeking funding outside the district is vital for the growth of our programs.

My students love music at our school! I would like to be able to take that love and understanding of music to another level. The magic that happens in music is often a one-time moment of a shining light for many students. I'd like to be able to catch those magic moments on video for review by the students as well as parents!

Having a FLIP Video camera will allow students to record their own as well as other student performances in music class. Having this technology will allow students to be able to reflect on and assess their own work. This technology will allow us also to incorporate video segments into our performances for the public. Having a video introduction, done by students, will be a creative way to show parents the steps and progress leading up to the performance of a particular piece of music. This FLIP Video will allow the intermediate students to video the music projects for burning on a DVD as well to share with others. The possibilities are endless with this integrative technology!
