"My school is a high poverty school, in a rural area of Michigan. There are 20 second graders in my classroom.

We love to read and listen to fluent readers, however, do not have enough resources so that several children can listen at one time.

I have requested a subscription to raz-kids.com. This is an interactive website full of books, read by fluent readers, comprehension quizzes, and learning! A subscription to raz-kids.com would allow my students to use classroom computers to listen to a fluent reader read a book. It would also be a way for them to use technology, which is so high interest to them!

Your help will allow my students to become much more fluent readers, improve their oral and written communication skills, and make it possible for them to practice reading in an engaging, authentic way.

My 20 students need access to raz-kids.com, an online library of books they can listen to and test on.

Dear Brandon and kathy,
Thank you for funding this project for my students. We now have access to the website raz-kids.com. My students are able to listen to, read, and take comprehension tests on books that are at their precise reading level. I am also able to use the site to see exactly what skills my students are struggling with as they read and quiz on books on the site.

My students LOVE using raze-kids. We have made it a required part of their weekly independent literacy activities, they have liked it so much!

Thank you for funding this for my kids. We had it on a free trial for a week and they were so sad when our trial ended! When I told them it had been funded by people who didn't know them, but cared so much about their reading skills that they were willing to help bring it into our classroom, they said, "Wow! Those are good people!". I couldn't agree more! Thank you again for caring for my students and supporting reading in my classroom! You ARE good people!

With gratitude,
Mrs. B.

Dear Brandon and kathy,

Thank you so much for funding this for my students!!!!!!!

We just had a free week trial and they LOVED using this website, so I know they will be so excited to find out this morning that they now have access to it permanently! They have loved practicing their reading fluency and comprehension using raz-kids and I am just so thrilled that you have generously made it possible for them to continue!

Thank you again for supporting reading in my classroom! You are amazing!

With gratitude,
Mrs. B.

"I gave to this project because...sometimes all it takes is one random act of kindness to get the ball rolling for others to make their contributions. And when one is in the position to help others, they should welcome the opportunity to actually do so!"
