Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

The other day a little boy in my second grade inner city classroom asked me what a vacation was. I was dumb-struck and told him in my best second grade words what a vacation was. I told him that on a vacation you typically go someplace new to experience new sights, sounds, tastes, and cultures. I then asked him if he had ever been on a vacation. Unfortunately, he replied, "No".

My students come from very poor homes. They don't have the ability to take vacations or leave their neighborhood. If they are able to take a trip it is often just across town. Zoo, museums, gas, new experiences cost money. Something the parents of my students do not have.

With an LCD display I will be able to bring the new sights to my students. Students will see what the world has to offer. They will visually be exposed to different cultures, ideas, and places.

Please consider this request. Please consider making a difference in the life of many deserving and underprivileged young students. Thank you.
