As an 11th grade British Literature teacher in rural Pennsylvania, I am fortunate to work with great students, many of whom will continue on to some form of post-secondary education.

I have difficulty with students conducting computer work outside of class because of the lack of computer and/or Internet access of my students. With the peak of cold and flu season on the horizon, my students are in need of a way to make up missed work in a timely fashion. Fortunately, I work in a district that has invested greatly in technology, including an Echo360 system. This allows teachers to create video podcasts that can be viewed by anyone with a computer and Internet connection. Unfortunately, this podcast is useless outside of school to any student who does not have computer and/or Internet access.

The iPod Touch that I have requested will be accessible to students who have missed class in order to view the podcasts created by their teachers. No more will I have to worry that our lower-income students will miss out on the opportunity to use technology as a learning tool.

Your help will ensure that all students, whether they have multiple computers at home or none at all, will be able to benefit from the technological advances already in place at my school.
