Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

No Moo-lah! My 3rd to 8th grade music students, 96% of whom are from poverty level households, are hungry to learn, but our district has little money to support 'extras' for any subject area. Because the school is so overcrowded, I travel from room to room on a cart.

No space! Getting my students to the board is quite a feat....about 5 students fit at the blackboards in the front of the room. Rotating all students through an opportunity to exhibit their skills is a time consuming process.

What I need are 18 small, portable white boards with markers so my students can work in pairs to write what they hear, and show what they understand. My students will be able to demonstrate their knowledge of music symbols, and begin to write rhythms and melodies they hear, an essential part of music education. Cleaning solution is also a 'must' to keep these little beauties in pristine condition!

With your help, my students could be pairing up to produce examples of notes, rhythms, and symbols.
