My name is Mr. P and I teach Physical Education for grades PreK-3rd at a high poverty school.

Students in my class are always excited to learn skills and activities that help them to become “lifelong movers”. They have expressed a great deal of interest in learning to play Frisbee and Disc Golf. Unfortunately there is no funding to expand and allow the students to explore these games.

To help us develop the skills we need to be “Lifelong Movers” we need 25 foam disc and 2 large throwing targets. Our students learn using a "skill then" approach. This means that they focus on developing a specific skill and building muscle memory. The skill they developed can then be utilized in lifetime sports. This approach helps to ensure the acquisition of sound fundamentals. Having these skills helps to give my students confidence to try new activities.

These materials will serve my students in many ways. They live in a community that has been hit hard by the economy and unemployment. These activities can be played at any age and by any socio economic group.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
