I teach Kindergarten in rural South Carolina. We are a Title One school with 93% of Kindergarten students receiving free/reduced lunch. Our school district was recently featured on SC ETV’s “The Corridor of Shame”.

My students come from low income families and their parents usually can’t help out with basic school supplies. Our funds for this school year have been frozen and we have no classroom money to buy consumables like pencils, paper, crayons and construction paper. I want to provide my students with ample opportunities to learn, and I cannot do that without basic classroom supplies.

I need basic classroom supplies. I need pencils, writing paper, construction paper and crayons. I need these materials to help provide them with a firm educational foundation.

With your help my students will be able to have pencils and paper for learning to write their name, ABC's and sentences. They will have construction paper and crayons to use to do class projects that will reinforce the skills we are working on in our class. Your help you will make it possible for my Kindergarten students to have the basic materials that are needed to ensure learning.
