"I teach K-4th Grade Special Needs children (all boys!) who love LEGOS! I utilize a short end-of-the-day dismissal period as a reward time to engage students in learning socially appropriate skills including sharing, turn-taking, and acceptable language skills. I have only one small box of LEGOS from my own home, however, I have 12 LEGO-loving boys with intense behavioral needs---I want to encourage sharing, but we just don't have enough LEGOS and LEGO people to go around! I would like to increase our LEGO collection so that our attempt to integrate a fun end of the day activity will help improve much needed social skills behaviors. The boys will be thrilled to have more Lego's to use and will be eager to work together to build common structures, I'm sure of it! Your donation will support an ongoing effort to build self-esteem and character in a needy group of young boys!
My students need a Lego Creator Airport and a Lego Community Workers Set.

Dear Henry, Dawn, Kristi, W, Jane and Melissa,
My students and I thank each one of you from the bottoms of our hearts! I have committed the last 22+ years to teaching young children with autism, and emotional needs. I feel very dedicated towards my career and strive to find positive and unique ways to impact students. For some reason, this year, the boys in my room have all shown extreme interest in Legos! Needless to say, a small box of hand-me-down legos was causing more disagreement and high stress than social appropriateness! Many of my behaviorally challenged boys go home to families under economic stress, and additionally, do not often have 'friends' outside of school. The guidance they receive at school, for social and behavioral skills, is usually all they get. I was thrilled when I discovered Donors.Org and even more delighted to realize that kind and generous people such as yourselves still exist and support the students I service each day! The boys will love having their few minutes of "reward" time each afternoon with the new boxes of Legos. I cannot wait to see the expressions on their faces! The staff and I will carefully guide their sharing and turn-taking skills with hopes of helping them to develop lifelong social acceptance, ten minutes at a time. Obviously, you all care as much as I do about helping the "underdog" and the boys I work with are sweet children, who need a stable learning environment. My job is extremely rewarding and I cannot express my gratitude to each one of you enough! I think it is perfect timing to say that "Santa" sent you as little elves to our classroom this year! Thank you all from the bottom of my heart :-) With gratitude, Ms. D.

"Dear Dawn, Thank you for caring enough about a group of needy boys and the staff that works hard to help them mature into nice, decent young men, despite what they live with on a daily basis. They are sweet boys with alot to offer as long as they continue learning! Your gift to our classroom will certainly help that happen!! Thank you so much! Happy Holidays!"
