My students are 8th graders in a low-income environment, who are taking a high school level course so that they can be more prepared for their futures and take more advanced level courses to get into college.

My students have no way to see some of the natural phenomena that occur in nature. With a LCD Projector we would be able to study Earth and its processes more fully so that my students can do well on the standardized test given at the end of the year, graduate and take college prep classes in high school. Most students at their age do not have this opportunity and they are extremely excited to be able to take this class.

The students need a LCD Projector so that they can understand many of the ways in which the world works. It is difficult for them to grasp many of the concepts, such as what rocks and minerals look like. This Projector would help so much in this aspect and others so that my students will have the ability to take the standardized test at the end of the year and do well because they grasp the concepts by learning them through auditory and visual means.

Your help will ensure that my students have every opportunity to succeed in my class, meaning that they will be able to take advanced levels of science in high school. Right now there is such a need for scientists that these students are our future and by helping our class you will be giving the gift of education and motivating them by seeing how cool Earth is and how each of them can affect the future of this planet.
