We Are Ready To Read

My students need 2 TAG reading systems with storage cases, and 4 TAG story books.

We are ready to read and we need your help. I teach Kindergarten in a high needs school. It is a diverse group of energetic five year-olds that speak many different languages and are showing signs that they are ready to read.

There are a total of 17 kids in my class that love stories and are showing an interest in the written word. In other words these kids are ready to become readers. Being only one person I can't always spend time reading 1 on 1 with each child. I try to read with as many as I can each day but reading with 17 children 1 on 1 each day just doesn't happen. I often feel like I need to give them more.

With the TAG reading system children will be able to use the pen to read stories and explore words. When the pen touches words it reads them for the children, thus giving the children the power to discover the words that they are interested in. Once they find a word they find interesting, or entertaining they have the power to have it repeated over, and over, and over again. With these pens our children can get that extra reading time that they long for.

With your help the children in this class will have the chance to explore books and enjoy the power of reading independently. Students will be able to read stories they love over and over again without needing an adult to read for them. This will give them the ability to learn words and stories and eventually they will be able to read independently. Best of all, it will also be fun which in the long run will create a love of reading. And that, in my mind, is the ultimate goal.
