Lights, Camera, Action!!!! Wouldn't it be neat to see the learning taking place right before our eyes? Couldn't we learn a lot by recording and watching our activities and projects in class? I am a third grade teacher at a school in North Carolina. My third grade students are hard workers who are actively engaged in their learning. Every day they seek out opportunities to gather understanding and gain more knowledge.

My students are so excited about learning and sharing all of their ideas and discoveries with each other. Research and investigations is a daily occurrence in a third grader's mind. Currently our school only has one video camera that must be plugged into the wall in order to operate. With these two flip cameras, our class would be able to capture learning in action throughout various locations within the school community.

The two flip cameras we are requesting will allow students to personalize the learning process by creating video demonstrations of how to solve word problems, better understand the steps in a process, and reenact the famous explorations and historical adventures of legendary people of the past. Video journaling during our science lessons will transform the scientific process into short video clips rich with information. Plot, character analysis, main ideas, and author's purpose can be creatively expressed through role playing interviews with peers.

If we were able to actually capture our learning, my students would be able to enlighten each other every day with no plugs attached! Your donation of two flip cameras will empower us to recharge the learning process!
