This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
I teach 5 year-old kindergarten in rural South Carolina. We are a Title One school with 93% of Kindergarten students receiving free/reduced lunch. Our school is featured on SC ETV’s. Our funds for this school year have been frozen we only have the basic supplies we need to operate like paper and pencils.
My Kindergarten students need a small group (kidney-shaped) table for individual and small group projects. This table is desperately needed to let the students read to me or work on projects in small groups. A work space is needed so I can work in the middle of my students.
I am requesting a small group (kidney-shaped) table. The table will give the students enough room to sit and work comfortably around me. This table will also allow me to be in the middle of my students so I can listen to them read, do small group projects and monitor and assess their work.
This table would really make a huge difference in how efficiently and effectively my classroom runs. My students would be so thankful to have a space to work in groups where they feel comfortable and happy.
