Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

This project promotes tech literacy and prepares students with skills and knowledge they can use in a world where jobs demand tech skills. I teach over 200 6-8th grade digital arts students each semester including students with special needs. In my class, students participate in a variety of projects with technology applications.

Budgets are tight and purchasing equipment is difficult when the money isn't there. I already take advantage of open-source and freeware software and have a freeware 3-D video program available. I also already have a class set of 3-D glasses. The only missing component are the cameras.

A donation to this project will go a long way! Not only will students be able to work with digital video to create 3-D movies, they'll also get to use it for other projects involving video editing and animation.

As a donor to this project, you will impact the lives of a vast number of students by providing them with an opportunity to explore a high interest area: 3-D. With the growing trend in 3-D films, this project taps into the students curiosity and helps them to discover the answer to the question "How did they do that?" At the same time, students are learning valuable skills in using video equipment and computers as their knowledge is applied. Finally, the purchase for this project will help with several other projects including animation and video editing. The skills learned from these projects may open the doors to more career options or interest in tech fields as it promotes interest in an application of technology.
